The Health and IT Services departments collaborated to develop the POD PreCheck and the POD Locator apps if the state needs to distribute medication to the public quickly, such as during an anthrax attack at a large event.
The system combines a method for the public to locate the nearest Open POD and get there quickly. It also uses an on-line system to do pre-screening of POD visitors, meaning they will arrive with a form that has already determined which meds they will need.
