But that could be thwarted by high-powered lobbying groups that see nothing wrong with the accreditors’ profitable side businesses.
We’ve felt for quite some time that the Joint Commission’s efforts to evaluate healthcare providers, especially hospitals, put the organization and the providers in a challenging position. The CMS seems to agree. It will be interesting to see what develops from this effort.
