SMALL COMMUNITIES CAN BENEFIT TOO!
Bio-Defense Network was hired simultaneously by three counties in upstate New York in the Fall of 2014 to recruit employers to become Closed POD hosts. Tompkins, Madison and Cayuga Counties each hosted a kickoff meeting. Tompkins County partnered with four new Closed POD hosts, Cayuga County exceeded its goal of 7,000 new enrollees with 10,162 and Madison County more than doubled its goal of 6,000 when Bio-Defense Network recruited 15,917 new enrollees. In April 2016, Cayuga County invited Bio-Defense Network back to provide Closed POD Training and several community education sessions on various aspects of Emerging Infectious Disease preparedness.
